The
Statement Issued By |

The
American Attitude Towards The
Verdicts Of Egyptian Judiciary |
|
|
|
The
Committee on Arab and Foreign Affairs and National Security; -As
it backs the orientations of the Egyptian Foreign policy and the steps taken by the
Egyptian political leadership headed by President Mohamed Hosny
Mubarak in handling the foreign issues facing Egypt under the
current critical international relations. -And as it denounces the attitude of the American administration as regards withholding any additional economic aid from Egypt under declared American protests against the verdict in the case of the director of Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies which represents a new approach that raises significant and serious questions round the strategic relations between Egypt and the U.S.A. in this crucial stage. The
Committee; thus, reaffirms the following: -Egypt
hasn't and will never accept any intervention in its internal affairs as
regards the cases brought before courts which are regulated by traditions
well know in and outside Egypt for the Egyptian judiciary enjoys both
autonomy and impartiality and its verdicts must be respected
by all countries the same as Egypt respects the judiciary verdicts of
other countries. -It
wasn't appropriate to link between the additional economic aids presented
to Egypt and the verdicts of the Egyptian judiciary which is not to be
accepted. -There
are signs of an unjustified campaign in the states against Egypt which we
must warn against. -The Egyptian-American relations rest upon strong bases and are marked by strategic partnership mostly concerned about keeping regional stability, settling the Arab-Israeli conflict and cooperating in the fight against the dangers that threaten international security besides the multi-dimensional bilateral aspects of these relations.
